Going Back To Houston.

The city of Houston was founded by the original Blues Brothers, Augustus and John Allen on August 30, 1836.  Since its inception, it has experienced one major disaster after another. Fact:The great hurricane and tidal wave of 1900 wipes out over 8000 locals. Fact:The Grand Opera and Ballet opens in 1955. Fact: Enron files for bankruptcy in 2001. Fact: Hurricane Ike hits in 2008.  BUT, there has never been a more devastating disaster then what happened to the Houston Astros  in Toronto on Sunday. Did I bet on them? Does Caitlyn Jenner want to be the next co-host of the View? Does she want to fit into a size 6?

Top of the seventh and Houston is trailing 3-2, but 7th heaven is right around the corner. One hit by pitch. One single. One throwing error. One double. And one sacrifice fly later, the Astros take a 6-3 lead. I can hear Dean Martin singing, “Going back to Houston”…a winner.159405351_c9e7e400c8_b

The Jays get a run back in the bottom of the inning on a home run from Jose Bautista.  Still up 6-4. “Going back to Houston”…a winner. Bottom of the ninth. Munenori Kawasaki leads off with a ground rule double to left. Oh oh. Jose Reyes singles to center and Kawasaki scores. 6-5. Josh Donaldson then lines out to left.  “Going back to Houston”…a winner.  With Jose Bautista up, Reyes steals second. Luke Gregerson throws Bautista a curve ball and gets him to pop it up.(When the ball lands in the glove of shortstop Jonathan Villar there will be two outs.) The ball starts out to the left of second base and then begins to drift to the right and over the second base bag. Reyes moves back to the base and bends over like he’s about to take his prostate exam. Villar tumbles over him and drops the ball. Of course he does. Looks like I’m about to get my prostate checked. Hello! Reyes and Bautista complete a double steal and score when Chris Colabello singles to center. Toronto wins 7-6. “Going back to Houston”…a loser…
