Was trying to decide who had the worst weekend. Was it the booking agent for Bill Cosby? Was it the pool cleaner for Demi Moore? Or, was it the Riggster? Over the weekend came across a picture of the all female cast to the remake of the classic movie Ghostbusters. Unlike the movie, Magic Mike XXL, which women went in droves to see, not caring if the film was any good, I doubt that will be the case for men with this cast. Lets just say that none of these Busters will be mistaken for Kate Upton or Beyonce. More like Mike Tyson and Woody Allen. But looking at the cast picture did make me think of the WNBA.
Sunday: Noticed that the Chicago Sky were home against the San Antonio Stars and were a mere 11 1/2 point favorite. Lock city. With a minute thirty five to play, Chicago was up 92-75. Lock city. Just 95 seconds away from victory. Final score 93-82.
Saturday: Minnesota Twins at the Oakland A’s. Phil Hughes and his 4+ ERA vs. Scott Kazmir and his 2.50 ERA. Take the Twinkies +145. No score heading to the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, Billy Butler homers to give the A’s a 1-0 lead. Top of the ninth, after one out, Brian Dozier reaches on a infield single and advances to second on a throwing error. Torii Hunter is then hit by a pitch putting runners on first and second. Next up, Joe Mauer doubles to center, scoring Dozier and moving Hunter to third. All tied at one. Shane Robinson pinch runs for Hunter and scores on an Miguel Sano sacrifice fly to right. Twins up 2-1. In the bottom of the ninth, All-Star Glen Perkins comes in to close out the game. This year he is 28 for 28 in save situations. Lock City. After Saturday night he is now 28 for 29. Gives up one run and the game is tied at 2. A’s score a run in the tenth and win 3-2. Who am I going to call? My loan shark.
