Thursday night at the Republican Presidential Candidates Debate, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul really went after each other on National Security. But it was backstage where they really had their WWE Monday night Raw steel cage debate. It was not over entitlement programs. It was not over Gay Marriage. It wasn’t even over reforming the Tax Code. They were debating which of my two losing bets on Wednesday night was the most tormenting, agonizing and just plain excruciating.
Sen. Paul thought it was the Cleveland game. Indians at the Angels.Take the Indians +115. The tribe strike first. Top of the fourth, Ryan Raburn singles to left scoring Francisco Lindor. After the Angels tie the score in the bottom of the inning, Cleveland plates single runs in both the sixth and seventh innings and takes a 3-1 lead. Bottom of the ninth and Cleveland brings in Cody Allen to wrap up the game.
He starts off by striking out MVP candidate Mike Trout. After yielding a single to Albert Pujols he gets David Murphy to fly out to left. Two out. One more to go. He then walks the next two batters. How hard can it be to throw strikes. Bases loaded. Still just one out away from victory. C.J. Cron is up and on a 0-1 pitch singles to center scoring two runs and sending Taylor Featherston to third base. Okay, tie game, we can win it in extra innings. Or not. On a 1-2 pitch to David DeJesus, Allen throws a wild pitch, scoring Featherston with the winning run.
Christie thought that my losing bet on the Tampa Bay Rays was worse. The White Sox scored five times in the bottom of the first. Tampa scored two runs in both the 3rd and 5th innings to close the gap to 5-4. They tied the game in the eight, only to lose in the tenth on a walk off walk with the bases loaded. There can be no debate, losing SUCKS!
